London is the UK's most well-known city for video games. The capital has produced around 29 percent of all games released in Great Britain (about 5,763). Manchester was second with 533 games.
20 million of the UK’s 6 to 64-year-old population (that's an astounding 42%) are gamers who play video games. According to the Interactive Software Federation of Europe, (ISFE), UK gamers play 8.9 hours per week playing in comparison to 6.8.1 and 6.2 hours, respectively.

Grand Theft Auto Series: Created in Scotland by Rockstar North. The series was critically acclaimed, has sold over 250 million units. In fact, it is the fourth most popular video franchise of all time, British newspaper The Telegraph classified the video game series among the top exports from Britain.
Batman Arkham Series: Based on the DC comic's Batman Arkham Series, the Arkham Series of video games we developed in London by Rocksteady Studios, with the first game being released in 2009. The series' success earned it in the Guinness book for world records, specifically for the "Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever" and for both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
Sea of Thieves: Released worldwide on the 20th of March 2018 Sea of thieves was developed in the town of Twycross by the developers at Rare. The game allows players to play the role of a pirate, sailing the seas and complete missions. Sea of Thieves was the most sold game Rare has released since they first began monitoring sales. Forza Horizon Series: The Forza Horizon Series was developed in Leamington Spa, England by Playground Games. It has been a huge hit worldwide since its inception at the end of 2012. Every game in the Horizon series has earned an Metacritic score of 85/100 or higher. The series has a retail sales of more than US$ 1bn as of December 2016. This makes Forza one the most successful video game franchises.

Burnout Series: The successful multi-platform Burnout series was created by Criterion Games in Guildford, UK. The British gaming company is also famous for their Need for Speed series. Both of these series are racing video games, an genre that Criterion spokesperson Alex Ward stated they were "steering away from".
Crackdown 2: Although Crackdown 2 was developed by Microsoft Game Studios it was actually developed in Dundee by Ruffian games. The Crackdown series is believed to have had an influence on the open-world genre with Den of Geek's James Hunt of described the first Crackdown game as "the first in a series of original, postmodern superheroes on consoles for gaming and great fun to boot."
LEGO Series: Not satisfied with their huge success with children of all ages as building blocks, LEGO has conquered the video game universe by releasing a series of hits such as Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Lego: The Lord of the Rings. The series was developed by Traveller's Tales (or TT Games) in Bolton.
Football Manager The series, which is also called Worldwide Soccer Manager in North America (or North America) was created in London by Sports Interactive. The series of games was extremely well-loved and popular with its players. There is a lively online community. The series has sold over 15 million copies across all platforms since its collaboration with Sega the Japanese giant.
